India's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj is ready for the new bike Kawasaki Ninja 250R launch in India in this May. Kawasaki Ninja 250R is the most popular bike from Kawasaki's product portfolio. The company's MD Rajeev Bajaj said that Kawasaki Ninja 250 will be launched in India in the month of May or June this year. He also added that the new bike Kawasaki Ninja 250 will be priced around Rs 2 lacs. Kawasaki Ninja 250R will be launched in India as a joint venture between Bajaj Auto and Kawasaki.
Kawasaki Ninja 250R is famous for its splendid combination of engine power and high fuel efficiency with smooth handling and comfort. Kawasaki Ninja 250R will be the entry level sports bike it may also pass off for a good street bike as well. Bajaj will be importing Kawasaki Ninja 250 as CKD (completely knocked down) units from Thailand to save on custom duties and it will be assembled at company local manufacturing plant. Kawasaki Ninja 250R will be equipped with 249cc, parallel twin cylinder, DOHC engine that offers better mass centralization and smooth handling are the main highlights of this bike.

Honda to launch new bike in 100cc segment
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s (HMSI) planning to launch new bike in entry-level 100 cc bike segment that might be a trump card for Japan’s Honda Motor Co to capture more share of the Indian two-wheeler market. The new Honda bike is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000. Two days back Honda launched the upgraded version of its most popular 125cc bike CBF Stunner to make its presence stronger in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) President and CEO Shinji Aoyama said, "We are working on to launch a completely new bike in 100cc segment by the end of this financial year. It will be priced little bit higher than other 100cc bikes in the market now, but it will not be higher priced than the 125cc bikes. The new 100cc bike might be priced at around Rs 40,000 - Rs 45,000."
He added that the new 100cc bike would not 'cannibalise' Hero Honda's products.
"We are not aiming to make big business there (in the 100cc segment) but we want to satisfy people who want Honda products at that price," Aoyama said.
In India, the 100cc bike market is dominated by Hero Honda, which is a joint venture between Japanese auto major Honda and Munjals-promoted Hero Group. Few days back, HMSI announced that they will invest Rs 300 crore by the next three years to expand its manufacturing facilities, besides launching new models.
On 26th May, HMSI launched the upgraded version of its 125cc stylish bike -- CBF Stunner, priced at Rs 64,630 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda to launch new bike in India
On the sidelines of launching the new facelifted version of Honda Activa Deluxe scooter in Delhi, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has said that they are planning to launch new bike in India in 100cc segment that will be priced at around Rs. 40,000. Honda plans to launch new bike in the next fiscal year. Honda is also planning to phase out its 150cc geared scooter Honda Eterno, as the Honda plans to focus on the gearless segment. However, Honda refused to disclose any details about the new bike models. Honda expects to post sales of around 10.6 lakh vehicles, including scooters and motorcycles, for 2008-09, that is around 17% more than the previous fiscal. For the next fiscal year, 2009-10, Honda has set the sales target of around 12.5 lakh units in the Indian market, of which 7.4 lakh will be scooters and 5.1 lakh will be motorcycles. Currently, Honda has 332 dealerships across the country, HMSI would increase it to around 370 by this year-end and more than 400 by the fiscal calendar year.
Talking about the upcoming launches, Shinji Aoyama, HMSI president and CEO said Honda would launch new bike in India in 100cc bike segment targeting the mass market in next fiscal year, he also added that, Honda would launch various variants of the existing models as well as new models too prior to that. He, however, declined to disclose any details about the future launches. He concluded by saying that the 100cc bike segment is a mass market segment that offered the realistic budgets of most people in India.
Honda said that they were selling around 40,000 units of Honda Eterno per annum that is just not good enough numbers. India's largest scooter manufacturer planning to completely exit from the geared scooter segment and will phase out the Honda Eterno soon. HMSI is eyeing incremental sales of 75,000 units from the facelifted Honda Activa Deluxe to close 2009-10 at 5.5 lakh units.

Honda has recently launched it superbike Honda CB1000R to attract the superbike lovers in India. Honda CB1000R is designed for Indian market and is priced at Rs. 9.5 lacs. Honda CB1000R features a naked beauty with an aggressive look that convey powerful impression of performance.

Honda Activa Deluxe
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Limited (HMSI) planning to launch new Honda Activa Deluxe, the newer version of its most successful scooter Honda Activa. Honda also plans to launch a mass market vehicle in the current fiscal year (2008-09), but Honda still not disclosed any information about that vehicle. The new Honda Activa would be launched in two variants, Honda Activa and Honda Activa Deluxe.
The new Honda Activa Deluxe will not only be the facelifted version of Honda Activa with sticker job it will also be equipped with newer engine of Honda Avitor. However, the variomatic transmission would be carried forward from the current one. Honda Activa Deluxe would be the top end version of new Honda Activa and would launched with new features and with extra premium.
Honda is also planning to introduce some new advanced features with the launch of new Honda Activa Deluxe. It is expected that new Honda Activa Deluxe would be launched in India by the end of April 2009.
Honda CBF 150 and Unicorn to launch in India
Honda CBF 150 and Unicorn to launch in India in 150cc segment. The leading bike manufacturer Honda now plans to launch Unicorn limited edition models. The new model of Honda Unicorn will be loaded with the sleek body graphics and advanced features. Honda already launched the Grand Prix edition of Honda Unicorn last year. Honda Unicorn Grand Prix edition was the first bike in Indian bike market which was launched with repsol colors and fluorescent orange alloys.
Honda also plans to launch Honda CBF 150 to compete with the recently launched Yamaha FZ-16 in 150cc segment. Honda CBF 150 will be launched with sporty design and fatty rear tyre. Last year Honda imported few numbers of Honda CBF 150 for Motor Sports racing event in Irungaattukottai where these bikes showcased. Honda disclosed little information about this bike and is preparing for a formal launch of these bikes.
Honda to launch VFR1000 bike in India
Honda India is planning to launch VFR1000 bike in India. VFR1000 bike is a 1000cc version of its existing VFR800 bike in India in 2010. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is also planning to launch new bike VFR800 in India by the end of this financial year.
The Honda India spokes person confirmed the launch of new bike at the time of launch of new Honda CBF Stunner model. HMSI will import the 800cc bike, VFR800 as a CBU from the parent company, Honda Japan. It is also expected that Honda India will launch other bikes or scooters later this year. HMSI Sales and Marketing head N.K Rattan said: “It is too early to disclose that the other two-wheeler will be a scooter or a bike.
According to Indian journalists, they have been told that Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is also planning to launch the new 1000cc variant of the VFR by 2010. HMSI sold 907,000 bikes in the financial year 2007-08 in India which is 27% up as compared to the 715,000 units sold in 2006-07.
Honda to launch new 800cc
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) planning to launch new 800cc bike in India by the end of this financial year. The senior executive of the Honda India said about the launch of new 800cc bike while unveiling Honda CBF Stunner.
HMSI will import new 800cc bike from the parent company. It is expected that Honda launch another bike or scooter later this year. HMSI sales and marketing head N.K. Rattan said, “It is too early to disclose if the other two-wheeler will be a scooter or a bike.”
“When we launch bike in India, we started with smaller engine sizes to cater to the masses. Now we are planning to launch new bike and by the end of this year Honda launch new 800cc bike for the Indian market,” Ayoma said.
HMSI also planning to launch bike in 100cc segment by 2010. HMSI sold 907,000 units in the financial year 2007-08, and clocks a growth of 27% over the 715,000 units sold in 2006-07.

New Honda CBF Stunner
The Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. launched New CBF Stunner, the another stunning bike in 125cc segment. The New CBF Stunner is an attempt by Honda to target the Indian youth with its performance and style. Honda bikes are well known for its looks and performance and by the launching of this bike they are going to strengthen their presence in 125cc segment.
The New CBF Stunner has a 124.7cc 4-stroke, air-cooled, OHC engine with a 5 speed gearbox which produces 11bhp power at 8000rpm. and 11Nm torque at 6500rpm. Its 125cc power plant makes it the fastest pick-up bike in its category and it can hit the barrier of 60kmph in just 5.20 seconds. It is the first Indian bike in 125cc segment which comes with tubeless tyres at the front and rear wheel. Its 17" alloy wheels with 80/100 tubeless tyre at the front and 90/100 tubeless tyre at rear adds the sporty look to the bike. The another nice feature which one can easily note is its split seats which is first time introduced in Indian market in 125cc segment bike.
